Ghorepani Poonhill trekking is a colourful short foray into the Annapurna region. The trail winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and past icy waterfalls where you can stop to cool your face. Around every corner is a tantalizing glimpse of the high mountains, whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek.
This trek, in the Annapurna foothills to the view point on Poonhill, offers all the best of trekking in Nepal. Enjoy trekking in the spectacular mountain scenery through charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs, Magars, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurnas with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Peak) dominating the skyline. At the climax of this trek you will climb Poonhill at dawn to enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the mountains on earth. As the sun touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Annapurna (8091m) along with a maze of other peaks, slowly begin to appear, like magic, before our eyes. It is a rewarding trek that can be enjoyed by every lover of nature and beautiful landscapes.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu at (1’365m. 4’478ft.)
Day 02: We fly or by bus Pokhara from Kathmandu
Day 03: Birethanti – Ghandruk (1’940m. 6’364ft.) about 6 hour Trek
Day 04: Ghadruk – Tadapani (2’640m. 8’661ft.) about 5 hour Trek
Day 05: Tadapani – Ghorepani (2’850m. 9’350ft.) about 7 hour Trek
Day 06: Ghorepani – Nayapul about 6 hour Trek and drive to Pokhara
Day 07: Rest and Sightseeing day in Pokhara
Day 09: Departure Kathmandu for the home country

3 Hours Before Flight Time
It is a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long, long time. A representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The representative will help you check into your designated hotel. At the hotel you will be briefed about your daily activities.
We take a thirty-minute flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu airport. During the flight, we get to savor the most mesmerizing views of glorious Manaslu and the snow-capped Annapurna mountain range. Soon after touchdown in Pokhara, we take car to Sightseeing.Pokhara’s bewitching beauty has been the subject of many travel writers. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalaya’, a place of remarkable natural beauty. With the magnificent Annapurna range forming the backdrop and the serenity of three major lakes – Phewa, Rupa and Begnas – Pokhara is the ultimate destination for relaxation. Pokhara Valley, gateway to the Annapurna region where many a trekker finds his Shangri-la, sits high on the list of ‘must visit’ places in Nepal. Pokhara once lay on the important trade route between India and Tibet. To this day, mule trains set up camps on the city outskirts, bringing goods from remote Himalayan regions including Mustang. Gurungs and Magars, who have earned world-wide fame as fierce Gurkha warriors, are predominant here. Thakalis, indigenous of the Thak Khola region of Mustang, are known for their entrepreneurship and run tea houses along the trek routes in the Annapurna region.
Leaving Birethani, we trail along terraced fields beneath the splendid panorama of awe-inspiring glaciated Mountain ranges. On passing a succession of flatlands, forest, cultivated lands and a suspension bridge over Khumnu Khola, we arrive at the beautiful village of Ghandruk after walking for about 6 hours. An ideal vantage point in this pristine village offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli. Several HOTELS IN teahouses at the village welcome us with warmth and sincere hospitality while catering to the requirements of all trekkers’ who hit the trail through this village.
we ascend further along the trail showcasing rich rhododendron forests, gloriously cascading sparkling mountain streams and other mystical vistas of nature. After continuously climbing for 4 hours, we step on the territory of Tadapani at an altitude of 2’640m. 8’661ft.. Tadapani offers the most magnificent mountain views of the overpowering peaks of Annapurna South.
leaving Tadapani we proceed further along steep trails down. Nature spreads exotic sight of majestic snow-capped mountain peaks, lush vegetation and rich plant life before us. We climb through rhododendron forest to Deorali 3’100m. 10’170ft. and reach a hamlet and cultivated fields. Continue walking for 3 hours and finally we will find ourselves in Ghorepani. Ghorepani also houses lodges to provide food and accommodation to travelers.
After savoring the mesmerizing sight of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and other Himalayan giants from the popular vantage point of Poon Hill at 3’210m.10’531ft. we leave Ghorepani and ahead for Nayapul. we further descend towards Birethanti. Birethanti lies stretched beside the Modi River and has resourceful town. On your trails of stone steps, you pass through dense forest and a small village of Ulleri. From Ulleri, a very steep section with 3’767 steps! leads down to Hille on the Bhurungdi Khola. Forty minutes beyond Birethanti, we come to the main road. Now we can easily access any means of transportation to drive to Pokhara. In the evening, we are free to wander by the lakes of Pokhara.
you can spend your day in Pokhara as you like, you can either relax in your hotel or do sightseeing on your own.
